August 17, 2011

Dear QUFA Member,

Please find attached News from the Job Action Committee 4: Crisis and Reservations.

On Monday 15 August 2011, the QUFA Executive released a brief message to the QUFA Membership and the media indicating that the Executive intended to accept the Administration's last proposal, despite deep reservations about some aspects of the proposal, in order to avert a crisis at Queen's University.

The QUFA Executive and Bargaining Team will answer questions in greater detail at the Council of Representatives meeting on 18 August 2011 (tomorrow) and the General Member Information Meeting on 24 August 2011.

In the meantime, the Job Action Committee would like to offer QUFA Members the attached elaboration on the Executive's message, which includes a definition of the crisis QUFA wishes to avert and an indication of some of the reservations it has about the proposal.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns about this information, please do not hesitate to get in touch with me at

Paul Young
President, QUFA
